At The Birchard Piano Studio, we offer weekly in-person lessons to each student. New students will join the Piano Lab Program, or more advanced students can ask about our elite Private Lesson program.

The Piano Lab Program

The Piano Lab Program is the solution for busy families with active and involved kids who want to add piano to their schedule of activities. This program solves the problem of difficult at-home practice by improving students' sight-reading skills, which is the most important skill that piano students need to move through their music quickly.

In the Piano Lab Program, students will:
  • meet for one hour each week
  • learn sight-reading and technique skills needed to play the piano well
  • move through their books faster than in traditional lessons
  • learn more music each week
  • have more fun practicing the piano at home
  • need minimal supervision from parents while practicing at home

Private Lesson Program

Private lessons at The Birchard Piano Studio are reserved for advanced piano students who are committed to a rigorous at-home practice regimen. These students desire to pursue higher-level piano competitions and/or a college piano audition.

Private lessons are 45 or 60 minutes in length. Students in private lessons will be required to participate in the SAT Piano Exam at level 6 or higher and at least one other local MTNA-sponsored event.
